The Second Floor has Started!

Praise God!!!  They have started to build the second floor walls.  The floor is hard enough and they are starting to remove the temporary supports. Click the link below to view more pictures

Here is another snippet from an email I received from Rolland about that house on the corner as we drove into the site.

We are making friends with the neighbors around the church property. The funny, little two-story house as you turn onto the street where the construction site is houses three families who are all related. There are 8 children who live there. Jo Ann was able to meet the women who live there and talk about the Lord. They have had some exposure to the gospel and expressed an interest in spiritual things. Pray for Juana and her sister Claudia and whoever else lives in that house! Your input and prayers are much appreciated.

The Roof/Ceiling is Poured!!!

Praise God that the building now has a second floor and a ceiling.  Click the link to see many pictures of the roof pour day.  You will notice a cement mixer....  I guess without our people there, they needed a motorized device to mix the concrete.  I'm sure that it is not mixed as well as our crew!!!

Received an email from Silvestre today - here is an excerpt for all of you:

Thank god my hand has healed, besides monitoring was not serious work. and thank god on Saturday poured the roof.
Wait 15 days after pouring the roof to remove the wooden support
Two columns were placed in steel beams each one in order to support the structure and the roof.
This week we started to build the walls of the next level we continue working hard.
And also begin to place the pipe for drainage.
If you see some of the brothers please say greetings shipping

I will be getting pictures of the roof/ceiling pour soon and will post.  It is hard to believe that it was a month ago that we were all there helping to build God's kingdom in Mexico.  Continue to pray for the leaders and the believers in Texcoco.

UPDATE

It has been confirmed that the ceiling/roof was poured on Saturday.  There will be pictures coming sometime next week.

Still working on the videos....  Some of you should pay me NOT to post some of these.  LOL

The posts that I mentioned in an earlier post is not definite.  We are working on an alternative connection of the beams etc so the posts will not be required.

Be praying for Rolland and Jo Ann.  Rolland's (and Jo Ann's) brother-in-law passed away and they are on a quick trip to the states for four days.  (this is why the pictures are delayed)

Here are the absolute latest of the floor/ceiling structure for the concrete.  It looks quite different than when we left the site.

Also - here is an excerpt from an email I got regarding Silvestre.  Please be praying for him as he recovers AND works at the same time.

"We've had a few setbacks: Last Friday Silvestre was putting in the wooden braces/frames in the Sunday school rooms in preparation to pour the ceiling when he felt one give way. He grabbed something so he wouldn't fall, but he lost his balance anyway and cut his left palm from the little finger down about half way on his hand on tin roofing. It required 7 stitches and a tetanus booster shot. Would he go home and rest? Noooooooooooo! After we took him back to the work site he started in again working with a stitched bandaged hand! "

There was also an "inspector" show up and tell them that they had to put a post under each of the beams that were set to help support them when the building contracts and expands due to the heat.  They are not all that excited about that as it takes away from the "big space".

They are figuring  on permanently being in the building in a few months and pouring the concrete on the ceiling this Saturday.

I have viewed ALL the video files.(Over 3 hours!!!)  We have some GREAT stuff. 

Here are some facts I learned while watching all of the video....

• Terry really loved the Ballet
• Maggie very much enjoyed hitting Karl and I with the cake server
• Someone left their phone video running for 20 minutes in their pocket while recording
• Carl took videos so he didn't have to work
